Bloomfield Twp., Mich. — May 7, 2020 — CGS Advisors, a boutique strategy and innovation firm that assists corporate leaders to bravely compete in the connected world, announces the addition of Dr. Patrick Hillberg to the firm’s Fellows Network. A group of CGS’ most experienced and uniquely skilled leaders, the Fellows have learned from several career pivots and have walked in the firm’s clients’ shoes.

“We are excited to have Pat as the newest member of the CGS Fellows Network and for him to be able to share his vast experiences and expertise with our clients,” said Gregg Garrett, founder and CEO of CGS Advisors. “Pat’s tenure in progressive manufacturing and Industry 4.0 is unmatched and a valuable addition to our strategy and innovation services. We’re fortunate to have him as a Fellow.

Hillberg began his career developing software in the early days of factory robotics, then transitioned to manufacturing planning and digitalization as a Solution Architect for Dassault Systemes DELMIA product. Prior to joining CGS Advisors, he was Lead Solutions Architect for Siemens PLM where he led teams in Teamcenter implementations and was the point of contact for C-Level executives. He later served as the US Lead for Academic and Workforce Development. Hillberg’s expertise includes Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Industry 4.0, Digitalization, Process Planning, and Vision-Guided Robotics; spanning a variety of industries, he engages with developers, users, and leaders in the C-Suite of organizations.

“I am thrilled to join the CGS Fellows network and their emphasis on brave leadership”, Hillberg said. “As I join the group, we are in the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, which necessitates bravery. Two years from now will be dramatically different from just two months ago. The value placed on products will be different, as will the technology used in their development and manufacture. Nature has thrust disruption upon us, how must leaders respond? While I am well-versed in PLM, Digitalization, and Industry 4.0, I have learned that innovation is driven by cultural adoption more than technological advancement. Adoption implies learning, and I take strong interest in new methods to help cultures learn, whether entering the workforce or throughout careers.”

Coinciding with his work with the CGS Fellows, Pat serves as the pro bono Director of the SE Michigan STEM Alliance, which nurtures and scales education methods in Science Technology Engineering and Math. He also teaches a graduate course in engineering management at Oakland University, is an advisor to Oakland University’s Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering and is past-Chair of the MAT2 Technical Product Design Steering Committee. Pat is currently in the process of writing his first book.
