Leadership from CGS Advisors to speak at IoT Evolution Expo in Ft. Lauderdale

January event to address “business transformation through the Internet of Things”

Bloomfield Twp., Mich. — Jan. 18, 2016 — Greggory Garrett, founder and CEO of CGS Advisors, a boutique strategy and innovation firm that assists corporate leaders in being brave and readying clients for the connected world, institutionalizing innovation and general growth strategy realization, and Warren Ritchie, director of strategy services at CGS Advisors will serve as conference speakers at the IoT Evolution Expo to be held Jan. 25 – 28 in Ft. Lauderdale. The conference theme is “business transformation through the Internet of Things (IoT)” and will focus on how this megatrend will be the driving force behind improving efficiencies, increasing revenue opportunities and solving business problems across multiple industries to propel business forward.

Garrett and Ritchie will co-present “Preparing to Compete in the Connected World: A Discussion of How IoT and Connected Technologies are forcing new perspectives and skills for our leaders today and tomorrow”. The session will discuss this growing need and potential opportunities to educate the workforce and is specifically created for individuals from companies that are deploying IoT solutions as well as individuals responsible for strategy at IoT solution providers. Garrett will also participate on two panel discussions focused on connected in the automotive industry.

As the founder and CEO of CGS Advisors, Garrett pushes the limits of corporate cultures by developing and implementing unique strategies that capitalize on technology oriented disruptions to industries and markets. Prior to founding CGS Advisors, Garrett was the Chief Strategy Officer for IT & Innovation at Volkswagen Group of America where he developed and led the corporation’s strategy for how to apply IT; developed and managed innovation programs focused on “the connected world”; and managed a set of support functions including market research, business planning and a corporate venture capital program. Garrett holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University’s Broad School for Executive Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Oakland University.

As Strategy Services Practice leader at CGS Advisors, Ritchie assists corporate leaders in being brave as well as advising clients on dynamic market issues and strategic changes necessary to grow. His practice specializes in corporate and business strategies, wrestling with the questions “what business are we in”, and “how do we compete” respectively. Prior to joining CGS, Warren had a 24-year tenure with the Volkswagen Group of Companies where he held leadership positions in the United States, Canada and Argentina. For the majority of his career he has been a change agent, assigned to either initiate a new or transform an existing challenged function or department. He started his career in automotive by leading field sales & marketing organizations, eventually taking on “headquarter” responsibilities in almost all functions outside of manufacturing. He led corporate strategy at VW in both Canada and the United States for years before moving to the IT department eventually becoming CIO. He continues to advise automotive clients applying his unique perspective of strategy and IT.
